The Chip Holder -- Photo of the Week 2 Feb 2010

Frustrated with eating chips at work and getting grease all over your keyboard? Well, the Japanese were, and they came up with the robotic chip holder. Sent by Rijen:

Even though it may be slightly ridiculous (read: totally superfluous), I appreciate the idea. Only it won't work in America.

In the land that has glorified competitive eating and declares unashamedly that "bigger is better," who is going to eat potato chips delicately, one at a time (NOBODY)? The American model needs to contain some of these improvements: 1. A mechanical hand in a cupping shape to maximize the cramming of chips into your face; 2. A mechanical hand with more than one moving finger -- c'mon, God gave us four fingers so we can grip more chips at once to maximize shoving.
